This piece is a collaboration with Ruby Jung, an incredibly talented all around creative in the city! This was the first of the prints to be completed in the project, and it set the bar high for the ones to follow. She drew these incredible pencil drawings of the squid and boats, and I brought it into the digital space and added some colors and waves. This was the first time I ever translated a pencil drawing into a digital piece, but the character it brings to the design is very clear. It was a joy to work with Ruby, and I think the artwork strikes the perfect balance between the tense feeling of the story, while also being lighthearted enough to hang on your wall!
